He loves us
Scripture: “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” – Psalm 86:5 (NIV)
We should never be so caught up in ourselves that we take the goodness of the Lord for granted. His kindness and mercy are not a reason for us to live carelessly or be in distress. All throughout the Bible, we read of His grace, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, and willingness. Not only do we read of those things but we experience and witness the same benefits for ourselves. We also know that He is the same God at all times. It is important for us to trust God, surrender ourselves, repent of our sinful ways, walk in His will, worship Him in spirit and in truth, and live as He wants us to. The same spirit that lived in Jesus Christ, lives in us and we have the same benefits. However, we must be willing to give ourselves to God, for our life is not our own but we belong to Him. He loves us so much.
God is forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to Him. No matter what we may face, He is always there for us. The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. Our Lord, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. So, who will you trust? Who will you call on? The Lord is concerned about all of you, even when those closest to you have gone away. Don’t live carelessly or in distress as if you are unloved, but call on the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, we thank you for being forgiving and good. We thank you for your unconditional love. We thank you for your mercies towards us. You extend grace when we don’t deserve it. For all that you do, we say thank you. We trust you even when our friends have forsaken us and our family seems few. We love you because you are God alone. Please continue to love us as we call on you. In Jesus Name. Amen
