Is the argument worth it?

Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.

How many times have you allowed someone to anger you? Or perhaps someone has caused you to get out of character? There are some who are hanging onto the latest disagreement and holding it for the next time. Do you realize tomorrow is not promised? There are people who wake up and have forgotten about the situation that you’re still holding in. It’s time to let it go. Is the argument worth it?

What makes you so different from the person you’re upset with? If you respond to a fool in the same manner or with the same energy, you’re just like them. Ask yourself, is it worth it? Life is too short to be anything but your best self. So instead of holding onto past resentment, hate, anger, and pain, let it go. You’re just as much of the fool if you entertain the foolishness. Is it worth it?

Prayer: God, thank you for your loving kindness. Thank you for grace and mercy. Thank you for goodness. Please help us to extend grace to others instead of arguing. Please give us peace because we trust you to fight all of our battles. In Jesus Name. Amen.
