Scripture: “'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” — Jeremiah 29:11
Do you remember the saying, “If it ain’t one thing, it’s another”? How many times have you said that very statement? Or maybe it was something similar. I will guess that most have said it too many times to count. Is it fair to say that some days it feels like taking one step forward results in two steps backwards?
Well, let me encourage you that it won’t always be like this. I can attest that life somehow has a way of being a challenge at times. It can become chaotic and confusing. But do you know that God is not the author of confusion? His plans are for you to prosper and not to be harmed. His will is far greater than what we can see or imagine. He does not want us to be downtrodden but to have hope and a future. Lift your head when you are down in the valley and trust God to see you through. This battle is not yours. God will fight with you. You get one life, embrace the challenges for they change you for better, when you trust His plans. Find the purpose in your pain. Pray for those who attempt to cause you harm. I remind you that weapons may form, but they won’t prosper. It won’t always be like this. You are coming out of this. A song comes to mind (“We’re gonna make it” by Myrna Summers), “With Jesus on our side, things will work out fine, we’re gonna make it, we’re gonna make it”.
Prayer: God almighty, thank you for the strength that you give, that allows us to weather the storms of life. Thank you for your constant love and the plans you have for us. We love you and honor you. We are thankful for your wisdom and blessed by your will. Please continue to love us. We know that it won’t always be like this, because of who you are. In Jesus Name, Amen.
