Refuge and Fortress

Scripture Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

It is no surprise; we are living in a chaotic time. Some days, it feels like bad news is more prevalent than good news. As if, there is more news of death, sickness, and violence. Our society oftentimes seems vicious. If we are not careful, we will find ourselves living in fear and not operating in faith. To be honest, the enemy wants us to live in fear. But I want to remind you, that you will not shrink to the terror and fear that is happening around you. Why? Because God is so much bigger than that. God is still on the throne of grace and He will protect us, even in the midst of chaos and chaotic times. God has never lost a battle.

God offers us divine protection. Even when everything around us seems to be out of control, God offers refuge. We may feel like chaos can happen at any given moment. But that is why we put our trust in God. He is able to keep us and protect us. No matter what “it” may look like around us, I will continue to trust God. He is our peace in the middle of the storm. God has it under control. Trust in Him and do not doubt Him. When the chaos seems to be major, find peace in knowing that the LORD, He is your refuge and you fortress: your God; in him you can trust.

Prayer: God thank you for your protection. Thank you for your perfect peace. Thank you for being a keeper when my surroundings get chaotic. Thank you for being a fortress. We love you Lord. Thank you for calming the storm before it gets to us. Please continue our refuge and we will forever trust in you. In Jesus Name. Amen.
