Seek Shelter
“O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety,” Psalms 61:1-2 NLT The pain of emotional injuries can be overwhelming. That injury can look like anxiety, insecurity, memories of heartache, thoughts of past abuse, pain, or conflict. It can be pain that we’ve attempted to bury from past experiences. The pain from our injuries tend to feel raw when we haven’t healed properly. Temporary wound care can never heal our emotional injuries. The bandages of fake healing only cover the surface. That’s why it is important to cry for help from God. Our ways are not His ways. His healing is not temporary. We may still feel pain, but He’s our safe place, refuge, and safety. Do you know that God loves you? Do you believe that He cares? He loves beyond the pain. His love is stronger than our heartbreak. He is our protection and peace. Seek shelter and believe that you can be healed when you pray to God. He will hear your cry and your heart never has to be overwhelmed. Prayer: God, thank you for being a refuge. Thank you for being a safe place. Thank you for tending to our wounds so carefully. Thank you for your protection and faithfulness. God, we love you and are grateful for your kindness. In Jesus Name, Amen.
