What are you giving?

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:6 - "The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."

When I was younger, I would often hear the older folk say, “it is better to give than to receive”. I did not understand the power of that statement or that it is was biblical. I was just a little girl hearing what would later be wisdom and a way of life for me. Now that I am wiser and older, I have witnessed the truth of this word be manifested in my life and others who I am connected to. I find joy in sowing. It is natural and not for benefits of receiving but it makes my ‘heart happy’. There are so many people who choose to hold onto things that can greatly bless others, not understanding that they are blocking their blessings and disobeying the Lord.

"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." Not only is this true, it also true that “It is more blessed to give than to receive”, found in the latter part of Acts 20:35. I believe it is important to be intentional in our giving. Not only is God intentional in giving us what we need, He also gives to us so that we are able to bless others. So, what are you giving? Are you holding onto knowledge, love, wisdom, gifts, money, time, etc., when you could be sowing into others? In the same way we sow, we shall bountifully reap. So, are you sowing anger, hatred, brokenness, and bitterness? Just think, you will also reap that. Let me ask again, what you are you giving? Someone needs your kindness and love. Will you bless them today? Another maybe hungry, will you feed them? Give like our Father in Heaven.

Prayer: God help us to harden not our hearts and freely give in obedience. We trust you to direct our paths. Guide us in giving and help us to be cheerful givers and sow bountifully. We want to be givers and doers of your word. We love you Lord and we are grateful that you love us. In Jesus Name. Amen
