You Will Be Comforted

Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”

There are so many that have been affected by loss. Grief can seem like an overbearing emotion. The attempt to try and understand the loss can feel like a burden. There may be days when tears flow without a warning. Other days may look like ‘all is well’, when the curve in a smile covers so much pain. Well, I want to encourage you, that you will be comforted. Those who grieve, will be consoled. You will get through this for the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit.

No one knows how long your grieving process will be. It’s perfectly okay to cry. Most Importantly, it is okay to pray. Hold to God’s unchanging hands and trust Him to guide you through. When sorrow seems to come in waves and some days are more flooded with your tears than others, still trust Him. Whether your loss is the result of death, disconnect, or sin- God can and will be your comforter.

Prayer: God we trust you to see us through this thing called life. We know that we are nothing without you. God, we believe that to be absent from the body is to be present with you. However, we have our days when pain is unbearable and strength is no longer present. God, we ask that you comfort us, heal our hearts, give us understanding, and the strength needed to get through. Please help us to understand that your will shall be done. We know that we shall be blessed in our mourning and you will comfort our hearts. Be with the families that grieve and comfort their sorrowful souls. We love you God and we praise your name because you are worthy to be praised. Amen.
